Job description: About the Role:

The PR and Communications Manager is tasked with developing and delivering effective media and PR campaigns in line with For The Record s overall marketing and communications strategy. The role supports the Vice President – Customer Advocacy and Marketing in providing strategic direction to internal business units to drive opportunities for improvement, retention, adoption and growth, particularly focused on the US market. There is also an element of sponsorship and event management, providing on the ground support at key events.

This role is perfect for an experienced marketing and communications professional who is looking to take the next step in their career. Phenomenal communication and copywriting skills are essential.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute a PR and media plan (US), including developing an overall strategy and tactics, creating engaging content, and measuring outcomes
  • Work with our existing marketing team to develop and support the overall marketing and communications plan
  • Create engaging content for all digital and media channels
  • Implement and execute systems and processes for analyzing the performance and optimizing engagement across all channels and campaigns
  • Lead the successful delivery of events and sponsorship opportunities in the US
  • Work closely with the sales and account management teams to support their needs and identify opportunities for improvement and growth
  • Effective collaboration with the executive management team across all functions and geographies to identify revenue generation opportunities and develop go-to-market strategies

Your responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients with the focus of improved product development and messaging
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts within Australia and North America to ensure successful product launch and continuous growth opportunities
  • Seek opportunities, identify emerging issues and develop innovative solutions in response to key brand and marketing challenges
  • Collaborate with and support a geographically dispersed team
  • Identify unique news angles, prepare comprehensive media materials (including press releases, pitches and media kits), and act as main point of contact for PR and media relations activity
  • Develop and implement a wide range of marketing communications, advertising and publication management activities across print and digital channels with the core focus of driving business growth opportunities
  • Prepare tactical marketing communications plans, coordinate the production of collateral and online materials
  • Prepare and upload electronic newsletters, website updates as well as brochures, printed newsletters and sales material
  • Complete other tasks as directed in an environment of competing priorities, tight timeframes and a number of diverse internal clients
  • Promote a customer focused culture that is aligned to the business requirements
  • Lead and personally demonstrate the company s values and behaviors
  • Other duties as required

Role Challenges and Special Working Conditions:

  • Position holder to be available after hours as required to manage media enquiries in a timely manner
  • Domestic and/or international travel will be required
  • Manager and other internal contact points may, on occasion, be located in different states/countries

Essential Work Experience, Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in a marketing or communications role
  • A thorough understanding of working through the lead generation and nurturing cycle to support the Sales team s growth opportunities
  • A record of successful delivery of marketing and communications initiatives that have generated increased engagement and/or company revenue
  • A proven commitment to improving internal and external customer experience
  • Good planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills
  • Strong leadership, project management and problem solving skills
  • Capability to build strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across different cultures
  • An ability to always maintain a positive outlook and working attitude
  • Confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people
  • Demonstrated flexibility to successfully deal with competing priorities

Desirable Work Experience, Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in professional services/software/technology industry
  • Experience in the legal industry or court jurisdiction highly desirable
  • Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Dynamics CRM
  • Experience with Meltwater
